The existing salal and shore pine groves were carefully maintained during construction which resulted in the house becoming visually integrated with the site.</image:title>

The design was heavily influenced by the desire to be able to view the owner's beautiful gardens and the need to fit in with surrounding modest homes. An old ginko tree formed the dominant entry statement for the new house.</image:caption>
